January 24, 2008: US Mint Back Online, Meg Whitman Retires, ANA, FUN

Today there’s some good news for anyone who has been waiting for the US Mint to get back online so they can place their orders for the new Bald Eagle Commemoratives. Also a couple of stories around eBay, one of the most popular markets for coins.

The US Mint’s website goes back online after an eight day outage.

Ebay just confirmed Meg Whitman’s retirement from ebay on March 31. When she started 10 years ago, ebay had 30 employees and $4.7 million in revenue. Today it’s 15,000 and $7.7 billion.

In other eBay news, five companies have sued eBay over their coin grading policy.
