The Wall Street Journal published this article titled Precious-Coin Market May Lose Its Luster. Give it a read, but in my opinion the article is generalized and unfocused, and never really gets around to discussing the topic suggested by the title. It starts out with the volatility of bullion coins, jumps to newly minted “never-circulated” and proof coins, randomly mentions September 11, counterfeit coins on eBay, and finally states that coins and ETFs are considered “capital assets” by the IRS.
