A 22 pound gold coin commemorating the 2008 Olympics is available for sale with a $1 million dollar price tag. In case you’re wondering, melt value is about $245,000.

The US Mint suspended sales of the 2008 Proof Platinum Eagles. One day later they began sales of the 2008-W Uncirculated Platinum Eagles.

In more US Mint related news, sales of John Quincy Adams rolls under the new Circulating Presidential Dollar Direct Ship Program have ended. The relatively quick sell out seems to suggest that the program was popular.

NGC adds Numismedia Price Guide information to their website. It comes integrated with the redesigned NGC Census.

In case you missed the eBay auction for lunch with Warren Buffett, how about lunch with Jim Halperin, Co-Chairman of Heritage Auction Galleries and best selling author. Proceeds will be donated to ANA.

And now for some notable auctions. What’s better than a 1909-S VDB Lincoln Cent? How about Two 1909-S VDB Lincoln Cents!

The 27th ranked Franklin Half Dollar PCGS Registry Set is up for sale. All coins are FBL except 1953-S and 1962.

And the ever popular 2006-W Reverse Proof Gold Eagle NGC PF 70.

That’s it for today!
