Here's another round up of coin collecting news! First, the options market is showing some interesting predictions for the price of gold. Also, Coingrader Forum, 2008 US Mint Set, the BEP's Billion Dollar exhibit, DGS, new offerings from the Royal Canadian Mint, some of the greatest coin investments, and notable auctions. Now that options have started trading in the Gold ETF (GLD), we have another interesting sentiment indicator. There are some big bets placed on gold reaching $1,000 by September.

While gold and silver have rallied, platinum has been left behind. It's currently at a 10 week low.

Regrettably, Coingrader Forum is shutting down. I'm somewhat shocked by the quick turn of events that caused this to happen. In addition to the final post, you can read Susan Headley's positive review and the comments that ironically led to the blog's demise.

The 2008 US Mint Set will go on sale at the US Mint on July 30. It has the same number of coins as last year and the same price as last year.
