    Happy Friday! It’s time for another round up of coin collecting news from around the internet. First, the rebound in commodities and the Gold Eagle Shortage. Also, more Direct Ship Presidential Dollars, Alaska Quarters, squished pennies, DGS coins, and notable auctions. On to the links…

    After a month of horrific declines, commodities head for their biggest weekly gain since 1975.

    Here’s a timely comparison between paper gold and physical gold.

    The LA Times on the Gold Eagle Shortage. The US Mint cites “unprecedented demand” as the reason for the suspension.

    You can now get George Washington and Andrew Jackson Dollars for face value through the US Mint’s Direct Ship Roll Program.

    The new Alaska State Quarter will officially be launched on August 29. Bags and rolls will go on sale at the US Mint’s website on August 25.
