I’m back after an unfortunate sick day for a double round up of coin collecting news from around the internet. First, sales of the 2008 Gold Eagles have resumed. Also, more on the US Mint’s PR campaign for Presidential Dollars, 2008 Gold Kangaroos, the key date 1885 Liberty Nickel, the half cent, and notable auctions. On to the links…
According to the APMEX News Blog, the US Mint has resumed sales of one ounce 2008 American Gold Eagles on a rationed basis.
The US Mint’s press release to announce their new campaign to promote the use of the dollar coin. The campaign is intended to “inspire” people to use the coins in every day transactions and promotes the fact that the dollar coin is “100 percent recyclable.”
Is the campaign already doomed to fail?
In a strange legal twist, rare Swedish gold coins worth $200,000 reported stolen are returned to a women whose mother bought them for $5 at a garage sale.
