    Gold KrugerrandsWelcome to Coin Update!

We’re back with your Friday coin collecting news round up!  Several stories on gold, including interviews with the Perth Mint and Jon Nader. Also, the CEO of Collectors Universe, Halloween coin website, coins from the Eliasberg collection go to auction, a personal treasure hunt, and notable auctions. On to the links…

First, thanks to GATA who mentioned my post from Mint News Blog examining the so-called “unprecedented demand” for Gold Eagle bullion coins in their Daily Dispatch.

On the other side of the globe, the Perth Mint is booming. They’ve hired more staff and added a third shift to keep up production. Separately, here is a recent interview with the Perth Mint.

Another interview related to precious metals. This one is with Kitco Senior Analyst Jon Nader. His comment on the implications of recent US Mint action: “I don’t subscribe to the government-preventing people-from-owning -gold and similar theories that are circulating…”

Things are getting rough out there, even for CEOs. The CEO of Collectors Universe, parent company of PCGS, was forced to sell company stock due to “an inability to quickly access assets.”

Eighty one coins from the Eliasberg Collection will highlight the auction at the Silver Dollar and Rare Coin Expo.

The Royal British Mint announces the sale of individual Gold, Silver, and Piedfort Silver Proof Coins. Coins are limited to mintages as low as 1,000.

Do you live in an old house? Maybe its time to start your own personal treasure hunt!

And now for some notable auctions.  For the gold investor, here’s a 10 Ounce Credit Suisse Gold Bullion Bar.

Do you like Hobo Nickels? Here’s an old collection of 17 Different Hobo Nickels. Hopefully the seller will get some close up pictures posted soon.

And last, a copmlete collection of 1950-1963 Proof Franklin Half Dollars in Capital Holder.

    Have a nice weekend!
