Here’s another round up of coin collecting news from around the internet. First, questions are piling up for gold watchers. Also,  Gold Coins from the Indian Post Office, two stories on State Quarters, the US Mint’s line up for the rest of the year, an unusual item, and notable auctions. On to the links…

Many people are asking the question: why hasn’t the price of gold skyrocketed yet?

The Indian government is now offering 24 karat gold coins for sale at the Post Office. Quote from the World Gold Council: Retailing gold through post offices is a ground-breaking initiative in the Indian investment sector and one of its kind in the world.”

Remember when the State Quarter series began in 1999, numerous firms were offering to presell coins for the entire 10 year program duration? Well, here’s what happened to one customer of a ten year prepaid plan.
