Here’s your daily round up of coin collecting news from all over the internet. To start, one story each on gold and silver. US Mint gold and platinum products return with new prices, the economy and coin collecting, Liberty Seated Half Dollars, an impressive Roosevelt Dime collection, and notable auctions. The latest analyst prediction on gold: it may climb above $1,000… in 2011. With most people uncertain about the price of gold next month, I thought this was a pretty odd.

More details are emerging in the rumored silver market manipulation that caused prices to collapse earlier this year.

The gold and platinum products are back on sale at the US Mint. Most prices are lower, but surprisingly prices were increased for several options. The 1/10 oz. Platinum Eagle Proof is now $199.95 up from $149.95.

Also, the 2007 10th Anniversary Platinum Eagle Set graded PCGS PR70. This product is not available for sale at the US Mint, although they have at least 12,000 more sets sitting in their inventory somewhere.
