Here’s a recap of the numismatic bags and rolls sales for the 2009 DC & US Territories Quarters. The article includes the last reported sales figure for each individual offering.

The first 2010-P Roosevelt Dimes have surfaced. So far, the US Mint has only produced 19 million of them, although there will likely be more to come. The coins appear to have surfaced in Ohio, so if you are located in that state, check some local banks!

The state of Massachusetts is preparing to list hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of unclaimed property on eBay. The property comes from safety deposit boxes where the owners have not paid their fees and could not be located. The article describes a George Washington funeral medal and at least $250,000 in gold and diamonds.

A desk donated to a St. Vincent de Paul thrift store contained an unknown coin collection. The charity called up the donor and returned the collection.

In another coin related newspaper story, while renovating his house a man in Canada discovered a small coin purse filled with $20,000 worth of gold coins.

Dave Harper asks, “What are the rare Kennedy Halves?” (The rarest by mintage is pictured above.)

Doug Winter recalls the dispersal of an amazing hoard of gold coins, highlighted by the sale of the Stetson Collection conducted by Bowers and Merena in May 1993.

And now for some notable auctions. First, here’s an auction for five Morgan Dollars in cases compliments of American Savings & Loan, presumably vintage from some time ago.

The Proof 1984 Olympic $10 Gold Commemorative Coins were issued with four different mint marks. Here’s an auction for all four different mint marked coins in the original US Mint packaging.

Last, the 2008-W $10 Gold Eagle NGC MS 70. This low mintage collectible uncirculated Gold Eagle drives quite a premium.

That’s it for this week. Have a great weekend!
