May 28, 2010: US Mint Pricing, 2011 Army Coin Designs, Popular Gold Coins

We’re back with one more round up of coin collecting news and articles ahead of the Memorial Day weekend. First, prices for the US Mint’s numismatic gold coins seemingly should have been lowered this week, but remained unchanged. Also, First Spouse Gold Coins, 2011 Army Commemorative Coin designs, historical prices for the 1794 Silver Dollar, America the Beautiful Quarter mintages, popular gold coins, World Cup coins, and notable auctions. Even though gold fix prices and the published policy seemed to indicate otherwise, the US Mint did not reduce prices for numismatic gold coins this week.

Next, the Isabella Commemorative Quarter issued for the World’s Columbian Exposition. The coin is graded PCGS MS66 and has been approved by CAC.

Last, the 2008-W American Gold Eagle Uncirculated 4 Coin Set, which contains some important low mintage coins.
