November 22, 2010: Proof Silver Eagle Sales, Key Date Coins, Louis Eliasberg Coin Collection

We’re back with another round up of coin collecting news and articles from around the internet! First, the latest US Mint sales report contains the debut figures for the 2010 Proof Silver Eagle, but were sales really that low? Also, key date coins, Saint Gaudens’ Indian Head Eagle, Louis Eliasberg collection, Simpson Seated Liberty Dimes, Perth Mint bullion demand, Abraham Lincoln Dollars, and notable auctions. The US Mint numismatic sales report comes early this week and includes the debut figures for the 2010 Proof Silver Eagle, among other newly released products.

With sales at an unexpectedly low 272,212, were the opening figures for the Proof Silver Eagle under reported?

Next, an auction for the 2006 to 2008-W Uncirculated $5 Gold Eagles. The collectible uncirculated version of the Gold Eagle has been canceled for the past two years.

Last a big lot of 40 2009-2010 Lincoln Two Roll Sets, which includes 8 sets each from the four 2009 bicentennial designs and the new 2010 design.
