The latest US Mint sales report includes updated numbers for the 2011 commemorative coins through the conclusion of sales. Many collectors have been closely following these numbers, as several coins will have historically low mintages.

Treasure hunters in Greece are searching for gold coins and other riches buried in the past two centuries.
The US Mint will begin accepting orders from authorized purchasers for 2012-dated Gold and Silver Eagle bullion coins on January 3, 2012. Both the one ounce and fractional weight Gold Eagles will be available.
And now for some notable auctions. First, one of the lower mintage modern commemorative coins that commands a big premium. It’s the uncirculated version of the 1996-W Flag Bearer Olympic $5 Gold Coin graded PCGS MS70. This year’s gold commemoratives actually have lower mintages.
Next, a nice looking example of the first year of issue Type 1 1913 Buffalo Nickel graded NGC MS 66.
Last, the classic key date 1909-S VDB Lincoln Cent graded PCGS MS64RD.
