Earlier this week, I linked to an article about panning for gold. This might be the only option left for some prospectors in California as suction dredging has been banned in the state to protect the salmon. (Thanks Ike)

From the Heritage Blog, a two tailed one Euro cent. Interestingly, the date and country of origin are unknown since coins in the Eurozone carry a common reverse.

The Australian Mint at Canberra has introduced a new mint mark. It shows a kangaroo jumping through the letter “C”.

Is the US Mint “losing a mint”? When all of their coins and products are taken into consideration, not really. But here’s an article that dredges up the old story about the high cost of producing cents.

And now for some notable auctions. First, a very unique, low mintage US commemorative coin. The 2000-W $10 Gold and Platinum Library of Congress NGC MS 70.

One of the keys of the Washington Quarter series in high grade. It’s the 1932-S Washington Quarter NGC MS 65.

Last, the key of the Silver Eagle series with a low starting bid. The 1995-W Proof Silver Eagle PCGS PR 69DCAM.

Have a great weekend!
