August 26, 2009: UHR Order Limit Raised, 2009 Lincoln Cent Proof Set, Gold Documentary

We’re back with another round up of timely and interesting coin collecting news and articles from around the internet! First, the US Mint raises the UHR Double Eagle ordering limit for the second time. Also, two Lincoln products available from the United States Mint, three part documentary on gold, Clifford Mishler article, collecting coins from circulation, no grade coins, and notable auctions. The US Mint is raising the ordering limit for the Ultra High Relief Double Eagle again. Collectors will now be able to order up to 25 coins per household. The ordering limit was only one coin per household just a month ago.

Today, sales of the 2009 Lincoln Bicentennial One Cent Proof Set began at the US Mint. The separately packaged four coin proof set is priced at $7.95.

Another Lincoln product, the Formative Years Two Roll Set, unexpectedly went back on sale after previously selling out at the Mint.

The BBC recently had a three part documentary on gold. Follow links to each segment from Paul Kedrosky’s post. The opening statement from the summary: As the paper-money financial world is revealed to be fictional, people have been rushing to invest, once again, in “real” gold.
