We’re back with another fresh round up of coin collecting news and articles from around the internet! First, an interview with Michael Moran, the newest member of the Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee. Michael Moran became the newest member of the Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee on November 29, 2011. Here’s an interview where he discusses how he got started with collecting, his current collecting interests, and impressions on CCAC and the US Mint.

An unnamed Wall Street investment firm has purchased a 1787 Brasher Doubloon with “EB” on the eagle’s breast for $7.4 million. The Brasher Doubloon last changed hands in 2004 for $3 million.

    In reference to the U.S Mint’s handling of the 25th Anniversary Silver Eagle sets. It’s amazing how the people who were quick to blame the previous mint director (Moy) for everything and anything under the sun that went wrong while he was director isn’t blaming the current acting director for what happened with the 25th anniversary sets. Hmmmm….I wonder why?
