We’re back with another round up of coin collecting news and articles from around the internet! First, coin bills authorizing palladium bullion coins, possible modifications to coin compositions, and change to bullion programs have been signed into law. Two coin related bills have been signed into law by the President. These will possibly open the door to changes for circulating coin compositions and authorize a new series of bullion and collector Palladium Eagles.
Authorized purchasers have placed orders for only 75,000 out of the 165,000 America the Beautiful Silver Bullion Coins available. That means that five of the APs were willing to go along with the US Mint’s new terms, while six of them will opt out or are still considering their options. (See the comments of the article for the names of the 5 APs who ordered coins.)
A reporter for the Washington Post discusses the redesign of the Lincoln Cent with the public on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial.
Further north, the Canadian Senate national finance committee has officially recommended that the one cent coin be removed from circulation.

A North Carolina newspaper reporter does some investigation about why a local resident cannot find 2010-dated coins at his local bank.
Effective immediately NGC is expanding eligibility for the “Early Releases” designation to all US and world mint issues. Previously, only US bullion coins were eligible.
The latest US Mint sales report is available showing the 2010 Proof Silver Eagles near 800,000 and the 2010 Proof Set above one million.
New circulating coin production figures are available, showing only cents, nickels, and dimes struck in November. Final (or preliminary) mintages for the Lincoln Dollar and Mount Hood Quarter are also now available.
And now for some notable auctions. First, a 1972-S Lincoln Cent Double Struck with the second strike 70% off center. Both strikes have the full date and mint mark.
Next, a complete set of 1964-2010 Kennedy Half Dollars, including the 90% silver proof issues and even the 1998-S matte proof.
Last, here are the current auctions for the 2009 Lincoln Coin & Chronicles Set, which still sells for a nice premium above the issue price.
