Federal agencies in Washington DC have been closed for the past four days. This led to the cancellation of the planned DC area coin exchanges for the 2010 Lincoln Cent.

Some interesting tidbits related to coins: Coin revenues increased by 34%, driven by increased revenues from the grading and authentication of modern coins. The recently relaunched CoinFacts has approximately 2,100 paying subscribers. PCGS keeps dropping clues about the big upcoming announcement in March, although no information is provided.

And now for some notable auctions. First, one of the 2009 Ultra High Relief Double Eagle Gold Coins graded NGC MS 70 PL currently listed for auction with no reserve.
A very interesting piece of memorabilia related to GSA Morgan Dollars. It’s an original press kit from 1974 that was sent to newspapers around the country. the auction includes a lengthy description of the kit and many photos.
Last, a visually appealing 11 cent coin – that’s a 1990 Lincoln cent stuck on a Roosevelt Dime. Strong details of each denomination are present.
