Hope you had a good weekend. We’re back with another round up of coin collecting news and articles from around the internet! First, the auction for the 100 kilogram Gold Maple Leaf coin sells for $4.02 million, with only one bid placed. The much publicized auction for a 100 kilo Gold Maple Leaf coin has met with disappointing results. It was sold for $4.02 million, or its exact metal worth. The auction room was packed with more journalists than potential buyers.

And now for some notable auctions. To start, here are two auctions for 50 rolls of 2010 Lincoln Cents stamped and canceled from the launch ceremony on February 11, 2010 in Springfield, Illinois. The first auction is for fifty 2010-P rolls and the second is for fifty 2010-D rolls.

Next, the proof version of the Julia Tyler First Spouse Gold Coin. The lower mintage uncirculated version has been fetching big prices following the conclusion of US Mint sales.

Last, a starter collection of Morgan Dollars. Included are 25 different coins, all graded PCGS MS65.

    Maybe it’s just not that much of a work of art to justify paying more than its intrinsic value for a bunch of maple leaves.
