We’re back to bring you another round up of some of the most interesting or important stories on coins and coin collecting from around the internet! First, the price of gold prepares to mark another weekly gain and some insight into the current gold market. The price of gold prepares to mark it’s second consecutive weekly gain. Now that the price has moved up, many people are becoming positive on gold. Go figure.

A recurring theme in the gold and silver markets for the past several months had been the disconnect between the paper and physical markets. Have the two markets realigned?

Yesterday was the launch of the second newly designed 2009 Lincoln Cent. Here is a brief report of the ceremony from the Associated Press, and a local news coverage video. Update: Here is an account of the event on Mint News Blog.

The US Mint will offer a DC & US Territories Quarters Map to collect the six coin series. A similar collector’s map had been offered for the State Quarters series.

An update from David L. Ganz on the fate of the ten 1933 Gold Double Eagles. There has been on ongoing legal battle for three years.

More details on the new services offered by NGC for gold coins. The services include NGC Certified Gold and NGC Authenticated Bullion. The services place more emphasis on the authenticity and gold content.
