USA Today explains the options for gold investing, with pros and cons listed for each. It’s a pretty basic article, but interesting to see the topic getting more mainstream.

More on gold. The Field Museum in Chicago has a wide ranging exhibition on gold, which includes 57 natural specimens, 147 culture-based pieces, 329 coins, and 28 gold bars and ingots.

And now for some notable auctions. First, a circulated collection of Mercury Dimes, which is complete except for the 1916-D key date. The same seller has a number of other complete or nearly complete collections for auction.

Next, a group of the 2005-2008 US Mint American Legacy Collection Sets. This represents the complete run for the short lived product line.

Last, the 1981-S Type 2 Proof Susan B. Anthony Dollar graded PCGS PR69DCAM. One of the tough “Type 2″ proofs that can stand in the way of a complete set.

That’s it for another update. Have a great weekend!
