In New Zealand, the number of $100 bills in circulation jumped in 2008 as people pulled money out of banks. On the other end of the spectrum, demand for coins has also increased following a change to a cheaper composition.
And now for some notable auctions. First, an 1885-CC Morgan Dollar with an old ANACS grading certificate MS65/65 (signed by grader Leroy Van Allen) and PCGS rattler holder grading the coin MS65.
Next, a 1936 Proof Mercury Dime graded PCGS PR65 in an older holder. The same seller has a complete run of 1936-1942 Proof Mercury Dimes listed, all in old green holders and all listed with no reserve.
Last, a 1964 Kennedy Half Dollar struck 10% off center, authenticated by NGC and graded MS 62.
