Silver KoalaWelcome back to Coin Update!

We’re back with another round up of coin collecting news and articles from around the internet! First, the New York Times covers the Langbord case. On to the links…

An interesting article on world production of silver during 2009. A whopping three-quarters of silver mined is by-product from mining other metals such as zinc, lead, copper, and gold.

The US Mint will completely remove ordering limits for the popular 2009 Ultra High Relief Double Eagle Gold Coin. For more than six months, the coins had been subject to a one per household ordering limit.

Martin Van Buren Presidential Dollar Rolls are now available from the US Mint through their Direct Ship Program. This program allows you to order coins at face value with no charge for shipping and handling.

A refreshing story about the next generation of coin collectors from Les Peters. I got my start collecting coins in pretty much the same way!
