We’re back with a round up of coin collecting news and articles from the past week!

US Coins

This week the United States Mint has released the 2014 Presidential $1 Coin Uncirculated Set and the 2014 Proof Gold Buffalo.

The weekly US Mint numismatic product sales report includes the debut of the 2014 Silver Proof Set.

Circulating coin production at the US Mint reached just over 1 billion pieces for April 2014. The article also discusses the Mint’s proposed focus groups and surveys which will be used to understand the public’s use and perception of circulating coins.

World Coins

The Austrian Mint has officially unveiled their silver coin to mark the 25th anniversary of the Fall of the Iron Curtain.

Coin Market and Auctions

A 1937 Edward VIII Gold Proof Sovereign sold for a record price of £516,000.

Here are some highlights from the auction of the Moser Collection of Mint State Morgan Dollars, which all together brought $1,574,837.

The finest 1776 Continental Silver Dollar headlines the Eric P. Newman Collection IV Signature Auction to held May 16-17.

One of the finest known examples of the Eid Mar silver denarius will be auctioned on June 3.

Corporate News

Collectors Universe, the parent company of PCGS, has reported record revenue for the third quarter.

Notable Auctions

And now for some notable eBay auctions. Here is an eight coin set of matched classic gold coins including each of the quarter, half, full, and double eagles issued since the Civil War. All coins are graded PCGS MS63 and placed within a framed holder.

Next, the 2012-W Uncirculated Gold Eagle graded NGC MS 70 Early Releases, which had a final audited mintage of 5,829 representing the absolute low for the series.
